Some Things Never Change

Daynan doing dishes for me when he was 2. I remember this day well because this was the one of the first times he'd done something to help without being asked first. This was fantastic but there was something else he did that was even more amazing to me. He'd gotten into the towel cupboard (it's open in the 2nd picture) and pulled towels out to lay down on the chair so water wouldn't get onto the chair and ruin it. The thought process involved in carrying out this little plan just blows my mind. So sweet and so smart!

I came in the kitchen a while ago and there was Daynan doing dishes for me again. I think wearing red must get him in the helping mood.

What is it with boys and vacuums and kitchen gadgets that make noise?
Then . . .

Now . . .

  1. Ha ha - Too funny! What a good helper you have. I am pretty sure that at 2 Ellie wouldn't have even thought about covering the chair. I'm sure she would have at least pointed out the water mess she made though.

  2. Wow, I can't believe Daynan is getting so BIG! I very clearly remember his vacuum phase. So funny.

  3. Too cute Anna! Daynan is such a good little helper. Every once and a while I'll call our vacuum the "bappo". Kent doesn't always remember what it means, but I think it is funny.
